A SINNER’S PRAYER

 

PRAYER 8,   Part 3 of 7
A PRAYER FOR HOLINESS.
       We pray Thee [Heavenly Father] help us to adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in all things. If we are fighting against: sin —  “the sin which doth so easily beset us” — Lord, lend us heavenly weapons and heavenly strength that we may cut the giants down, these men of Anak [enemy Tribes] that come against us. We feel very feeble [weak]. Oh!  make us strong in the Lord, in the power of His might.

 

        May we never let sin have any rest in us, may we chase it, drive it out, slay it, hang it on a tree, abhor [hate] it, and may we “cleave [adhere] to that which is good.” Romans 12:9

 

        Some of us are trying, striving after some excellent virtue.  Lord, help stragglers [those who have fallen behind]; enable those that contend against great difficulties only to greater grace, more faith, and so to bring them nearer to God. Lord, we will be holy; by Thy [Your] grace we will never rest until we are. Thou hast [You have] begun a good work in us and Thou wilt [You will] carry it on.

 

        Thou wilt [You will] work in us to will and to do of Thine [Your] own good pleasure.

 ANECDOTE  194:  The Rope of Faith.
 

        The stupendous falls of Niagara [In the American  state of New York] have been spoken of in every part of the world ; but while they are marvelous to hear of, and wonderful as a spectacle, they have been very destructive to human life, when by accident any have been carried down the cataract [waterfall].  Some years ago two men, a bargeman and a collier [coal miner] , were in a boat, and found themselves unable to manage it, it being carried so swiftly down the current that they must inevitably be borne down and dashed to pieces.  Persons on the shore saw them, but were unable to do much for their rescue. At last, however, one man was saved by floating a rope to him, which he grasped. The same instant that the rope came into his hand a log floated by the other man. The thoughtless and confused barge man instead of seizing the rope laid hold on the log. It was a fatal mistake; they were both in imminent peril, but the one was drawn to shore because he had a connection with the people on the land,  whilst [while] the other, clinging to the log, was borne irresistibly along and never heard of afterward.

 

        Do you not see that here is a practical illustration?  Faith is a connection with Christ. Christ is on the shore, so to speak, holding the rope of faith, and if we lay hold of it with the hand of our confidence he pulls us to shore; but our good works, having no connection with Christ, are drifted along down the gulf of fell despair. Grapple [grab] them as tightly as we may, even with hooks of steel,

 

they cannot with all our efforts avail us in the least degree.

           A special blessing for a memorable occasion. Abram had settled a family dispute. He had said, “Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between thee and me, for we be brethren”; and hence

 

he received the blessing which belongs to peacemakers.

 

         The Lord and giver of peace delights to manifest His grace to those who seek peace and pursue it. If we desire closer communion with God, we must keep closer to the ways of peace.

         Abram had behaved very generously to his kinsman, giving him his choice of the land. If we deny ourselves for peace’ sake, the Lord will more than make it up to us.

 

        As far as the patriarch [Abraham] can see, he can claim, and we may do the like by faith. Abram had to wait for the actual possession,  but the Lord entailed [predetermined the order of succession, the settled rule of descendants] the land upon him and his posterity [descendants]. Boundless blessings belong to us by covenant gift. 

 

        All things are ours.  When we please the Lord, He makes us to look everywhere, and see all things [as] our own, whether things present, or things to come, all are ours, and we are Christ’s, and Christ is God’s.

 

Prayer: Thank you Lord for Your promise to us [Your followers] and to our descendants. Help us to claim it by faith, in Jesus name, Amen.

MORNING   February  12                                                                                                                           

"For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth [abounds] by Christ. "
—2 Corinthians 1:5

          HERE is a blessed proportion. The Ruler of Prov­idence bears [holds] a pair of scales [a balance for weighing]—in this [on one] side He puts His people's trials, and in that [the other] side He puts their con­solations [comfort and compassion]. When the scale of trial is nearly empty you will always find the scale of consolation in nearly the same condition [in balance], and when the scale of trials is full you will find the scale of consolation just as heavy.

 

        When the black clouds gather most [are at their darkest], the light is the more brightly revealed to us. When the night lowers [gets darker] and the tempest [storm] is coming on, the Heavenly Captain [Jesus] is always closest to His crew. It is a blessed thing that when we are most cast down [depressed], it is then that we are most lifted up by the conso­lations of the [Holy] Spirit.

 

        One reason is because trials make more room for consolation.   Great hearts can only be made by great troubles.  The spade [shovel] of trouble digs the reservoir of comfort deeper and makes more room for consolation [loving concern].

 

        God comes into our heart, He finds it full [of cares and suffering], He begins to break our comforts and to make it empty; then there is more room for [His] grace. The humbler a man is,  the more comfort he will always have, because he will be more able to receive it. Another reason why we are often most happy in our troubles is this:

 

then we have the closest dealings [fellowship] with God.

 

When the barn is full, man can live without God; when the purse is bursting with gold, we try to do without so much prayer. But once take our gourds [like Jonah’s] away and we want our God;

 

 [when] once [we] cleanse the idols out of the house, then we are compelled to honor Jehovah.

 

[The gourd reference is from the book of Jonah and illustrates his earthly sorrow in losing the comfort of shade in a hot land from a gourd plant. The gourd may represent to us uncertain and false riches, pleasure and earthly comfort or any other idolatrous presence],

 

        "Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O Lord."

 

        There is no cry so good as that which comes from the bottom of the mountains; no prayer half so hearty as that which comes up from the depths of the soul, through deep trials and afflictions. Hence, they bring us to God, and we are happier,

 

for nearness to God is happiness.

 

        Come, troubled believer, fret not   [don’t whine or worry]   over your heavy [excruciating] troubles, for they are the heralds [harbingers] of weighty [huge] mercies [from God].  [Hallelujah!]

       THE Great Father revealed Himself to believers of old [in the Old Testament] before the coming of His Son, and was known to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob as the God Al­mighty.

 

        Then Jesus came, and the ever-blessed Son in His own proper person, [His own self, in-person] was the delight of His people's eyes. At the time of the Redeemer's ascension [when Jesus Christ, was taken up to heaven], the Holy Spirit became the head of the present dispensation [present period of God’s dealing with his own], and His own proper person was [is] the delight of His people's cost. He remains at this hour the present Immanuel, God with us, dwelling in and with His people, quicken­ing, guiding, and ruling in their midst.

 

        Is His presence recognized as it ought to be? We cannot control His working; He is most sovereign in all His operations, but are we sufficiently anxious to obtain His help, or suffi­ciently watchful lest we provoke Him to withdraw His aid?

 

 Without Him we can do nothing,

 

       but by His al­mighty energy the most extraordinary results can be produced: everything depends upon His manifesting or concealing His power. Do we always look up to Him both for our inner life and our outward service with the re­spectful dependence which is fitting? Do we not too often run before His call and act independently of His aid?  Let us humble ourselves this evening [right now] for past ne­glects, and now entreat the heavenly dew [blessing] to rest upon us, the sacred oil to anoint [empower] us, the celestial [heavenly] flame to burn within [enthusiastically motivate] us.

 

            The Holy Spirit is no temporary gift, He abides [lives always] with the saints [faithful believers]. We have but [only] to seek Him aright [earnestly], and He will be found of us [we will find Him].

 

        He is jealous, but He is pitiful [full of pity toward us]; if He leaves in anger, He returns in mercy. Con­descending  [not unapproachable] and tender, He does not weary [He doesn’t get tired] of us, but waits to be gracious still [give unmerited favor (Grace) to us without change, no matter what].

       Sin has been hammering my heart
Unto a hardness, void of love,
      Let suppling grace to cross his art
Drop from above. 

 

You too can cast your cares on the Lord…  

1.     Call on Him. As for me, I will call upon God; and the Lord shall save me.. ...Psalm 55:16

2.      Trust Him. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass ... Psalm 37:5

3.     Come to Him. Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest..  Matthew 11:28

4.     Give Him the burden.  Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved. Psalm 55:22]

… and pray for souls to be saved and believers to be strengthened

The Lord … is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.  2 Peter 3:9

Pray also that believers will be led… led                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          by the Holy Spirit to rightly divide and proclaim God’s Word providentially protected and preserved by God, Himself.

 

John 3:16:   

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

 

This KJV Translation is from  the Textus Receptus (TR)  [Received Text] and is rendered from the 5,321 extant Greek manuscript texts known as The Majority Text MT. The Majority texts are in substantial and overwhelming agreement (99%)  with each other and avoid heretical, secular biases, ambiguities  or  unsupported primary Greek source texts of the variant readings in codices Alexandrinus, Sinaiticus and Vaticanus [from the Vatican].  These inferior  Greek translations along with those invented by Westcott & Hort and Nestle & Aland conspire to create many weakened variant readings agreed to in most modern Bible Translations.

 

There is substantial disagreement and missing texts among these Greek codices and translations which do not agree with one another, and  are created from incomplete codex  fragments  and introduce the  modern biblical criticism theory that embraces ambiguities, uncertainties and variant readings [multiple interpretations]. These are found in a multitude of new English translations and contain doctrinal compromises that nuance-away or otherwise diminish  the highest glory due to God Almighty.  The TR is the original primary New Testament Greek source of the Authorized King James Translation and it is the ONLY ENGLISH translation that comes directly and exclusively from the providentially protected, preserved and inspired [God Breathed] Textus Receptus.

God is not the author of confusion. 1 Corinthians 4:33­­

God, Himself, providentially protects and preserves His WORD. All of His Word is inspired, [God-breathed], self-authenticating, immutable [unchanging and unchangeable], eternal, inerrant, infallible, infinite and all-powerful [omnipotent] Word.

The Authorized King James version is distinguished further by the requirement of The Crown in Great Brittan that all King James bibles be printed only by the Cambridge University Press, the Crown’s authorized printer. No other [person or publisher] may print, copy or import the King James Bible into Great Brittan by order of the Crown.

Printed Prayer: Printed prayers must not be read or offered as a substitute for personal, fervent, effectual, heart-felt, prayer. They are offered, rather, to warm the hearts of those who will presently seek a season of fervent, authentic two-way, heart-to-heart  fellowship and prayer with the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. Authentic revelations from God during  prayer are always consistent with His revealed Word, the Bible.

* Not only were new converts won to the truth in Caesar's household, but after their conversion they remained in that household. They did not feel at liberty to abandon their post of duty because their surroundings were no longer congenial.  A SINNER’S PRAYER:

 

“Lord Jesus, I’m a sinner. I’m lost and it’s hopeless for me to save myself. Without you and your death on the cross I would spend eternity in Hell.

I know that me doing my best or being good (in my own opinion)  and justifying my own behavior as "good"  or "OK"  can never be enough to save me.
I look to You, alone  Lord Jesus to save me. 
I come to You   right now.  Lord Jesus. Will You  please save me.  I believe You died on the cross in my place to pay for my sin debt and put to death my sin nature. I know  You always keep your word.  Please save me. You have said and  it’s written in the Bible that you won’t reject anyone who comes to you. Thank You.

I  give myself (all of myself) to You, Lord Jesus. I declare that You are my Savior and Lord. I’m sorry for and I turn away from  every sin (every bad thought, every bad word I have spoken and every bad thing I have ever done)  and look to You free me from the penalty of sin, to keep me free from the power of sin and empower me overcome any temptation from sin’s  presence.  Thank you for forgiving  all of  my sins by dying on the cross to pay the punishment that I deserve.  (I was a sinner by nature and by behavior). But now I'm washed clean by Your blood that was shed [poured out] for me at Calvary [at the cross].

Thank you Lord Jesus that You loved me and died for me before I was bor n and that You love me now and will always love me and will never reject or turn your back on me. I know You are the Way, the Truth and the Life and that no one can come to the Father other than by You.

Thank you Father that You have made a way for me to see myself as ungodly.  But,  because You are good You have made a way and given me the desire to come to You, to turn away from my sin and to trust in the Lord Jesus.  You have forgiven me because He took my place and You have provided for  me to be born again [born from above, born of the Holy Spirit]. 
You prompted this desire and faith to believe in Your only begotten Son who,gave up  His life and died on the cross to pay my sin debt, not mine alone, but the sins of the whole world.

Thank You, Heavenly Father that you raised Jesus from the dead. He is ALIVE and in Him we are victorious over sin, death and the grave and in Christ Jesus there is no condemnation. After You raised Him from the dead You gave Him a Glorified, [everlasting] physical body and  after he was seen by many witnesses on earth You took Him up to reign with  You  in heaven. Thank you for saving me.  I pray this in the name, of Your only begotten Son, the Lord Jesus Christ with a grateful heart.   Thank You for saving me heavenly Father and for sending the Comforter, The Spirit of Truth, for my guidance and solemn instruction into all truth.,  Amen.”

Thank You Holy Spirit of Truth, Comforter, Paraclete [one who is by your side]  for the new life in Jesus and the  victory that comes when I recon myself dead indeed unto sin and alive unto God through Christ Jesus our Lord trusting You, Holy Spirit for the  empowerment  to see  this promise fulfilled. Romans 6:11

Thank you that you, Holy Spirit,  always exalt the Lord Jesus.  John 16:8-11

1 John  Chapter 4

Beloved ones, don’t be believing every spirit [everything you hear] but [continually] be testing the spirit whether it is of God: because many false prophets have come out in the world. Here’s how you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit [voice] that confesseth [confesses, says] that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh, having come out of God, is of God: and every spirit [voice] that confesseth not [doesn't confess] that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

Hence, I confess [declare and affirm] "Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh."

Let me invite you to trust in  the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord and to publicly confess [declare] Him as such before men [publicly]. He will therefore be able to acknowledge and confess you before His Father in Heaven. He is The God of Abraham. Isaac and Jacob. Following your public confession, You also invited to follow Him in believer’s baptism.  

 

Jesus came from Galilee t o Jordan to be baptized by John the Baptist. But, John forbad [refused] Him and said, “I have need to be baptized of You and [yet] you are coming to me?” [for baptism] And Jesus answering him said, “Suffer it to be so [Allow this]: for thus it becometh [is fitting and right for] us to fulfil all righteousness.” 

 Matthew 3:15

 

Baptism is not required for salvation. Remember, what Jesus said to the thief on the cross, who acknowledged Jesus’ innocence by saying to him:

 

“Remember me when you come into your kingdom.”

 

And then, Jesus said to him:

 

“Verily [Truly] I say to you, Today you shall be with me in paradise.” Luke 23:43

Baptism pictures the Lord’s death, burial  and resurrection and the believer being Born Again.

 

It bears witness to the truth  John the Baptist preached that the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand requiring Repentance from sin and the Baptism of atonement. Therefore, the act of baptism is not required for salvation but it needed is an act of obedience to fulfil all righteousness.

Romans 6:3-5:

3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection.

We should apply the following Scripture to everything we hear/read to discern whether what we are  hearing or reading is of God and therefore whether or not it should be believed.
 

1 John 4:1-3  Beloved ones, don’t be believing every spirit [word] you hear but be testing the spirits [words] whether they are of God: because many false prophets have gone out into the world. Here’s how you know if it is the Spirit [voice]  of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh, having come from God, is of God:  and every spirit that confesses not that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. 

Therefore beloved, we must test every voice [written or spoken]  to discern whether it is from God or not. By applying these scripture verses we can determine with certainty if the scriptural standard that protects believers from believing false prophets has been met.   We can thereby identify false witnesses and determine not to believe or follow them.  The voice [spirit] being tested should not be believed unless it confesses [states]  that… 

“Jesus Christ is here, in the flesh having come from God .”

 

The Two New Testiment Greek Texts that were created by Westcott & Hort and Nestle & Aland do not make this 1 John 4:1-4confession nor do they follow the Textus Receptus  rendered from 5,321 extant Greek manuscripts,  which  agree overwhelmingly [99%]  with each other  known as as the Majority Text. The 5,321  Majority Text Manuscripts are the source from which the trusted Textus Receptus was rendered.

 

Instead, these two purveyors of Greek texts used their own Greek  translations that they created by hand picking only 45 of the 5,321extant Greek manuscripts. When these 45 Manuscripts were silent as to the text being translated, they simply inserted their own invented and unfounded Greek text. 

 

This invented Greek translation  presented variant  readings different than the Textus Receptus [Received Text] in many places. One example  from 1 John, Chapter 4 where  all English translations other than the King James version overlook the original Greek verb “ictin” [To be] [is] (third person singular) that is translated in substantially all Majority Texts MT and  subsequently in the Textus Receptus [Received Text] and therefore have failed to correctly translate  the Greek verb  as, “Is come” [Is here].  (correctly Translated from the Textus Receptus [Received Text (TR)]  in the King James Version) 

This  error occurs  because the  modern critical Greek text, created by Westcott & Hort and Nestles & Alland DO NOT follow the  MT [Majority Texts] of 5,321 Greek manuscripts that  affirm substantial agreement with one another.   The TR  [Textus Receptus] is rendered from an overwhelming agreement found among the Majority Text of 5,321 primary Greek manuscript sources.

Both Westcott & Hort and Nestles & Alland ignore the verb “is”, from their invented  Greek text and place “has come” instead.

This error may be legally described as res ipsa loquitur a latin phrase that means “the thing speaks for itself”.

 Therefore, the Greek  inventions generated by these two sources are not actually translations, even though they are introduced as translations, but actually  represent their own  Greek language inventions unsupported by the reliability of the Majority Texts and the Textus Receptus.

How do we know? 

We know because both  non-believers and false prophets assert that Jesus Christ 
“has come” in the flesh.

Practically anyone  can make this confession as the  birth of Jesus Christ is considered by historians to be the most well documented fact in all of human history. 

 

That He has come is generally acknowledged by nonbelievers and believers alike.   However, here’s the point. There is a huge difference in meaning between “Has come” and “Is Here”. “Has come” is woefully short of the essential and clear meaning of the confession “Is Here”.

 

Just because something “has come” it can not be assumed, inferred or deduced that it also “is here”.

The “has come” assertion is generally held.  It is not, per se, a false statement. Jesus Christ has come in the flesh. However, this  falls short of  presenting a logical rubric to discern whether the sprit [voice] being tested [tried] is from God or from false prophets in the spirit of antichrist. 

 

Again, the expression “has come” rather than  “is come” [is here]  is not, per se a false statement.

However, it fails to deliver a valid hypothesis, by which spiritual understanding can be discerned. The failure is in   establishing a logical and rhetorically sound rubric by which discernment can be rendered as to the question of whether spirits [words] are from God or from false prophets or the spirit of antichrist.

 

Actually, when the term “has come” is used it is true. However, this wide-spread belief held to be historically correct by practically everyone,  does not provide a sound rubric or standard with which to discern whether a voice  [spoken or written words]  are from God or the spirit of Antichrist.

 

Almost anyone [or any voice] can declare that Jesus Christ “has come” in the flesh. But as you can see, this does not provide any discernment as to  whether something should or should not be believed as being from God and therefore as true and to be believed and followed.

 

Why?  Once again,  because almost anyone can and often does confess that Jesus Christ “has come” in the flesh. But, this is an insufficient standard by which discernment can be rightly judged. The standard in God’s Word is whether the confession that Jesus is here, per se, is being made, yes or no. This confession gives an efficacious standard to discern truth from error.

Again, while it is  true that Jesus Christ “has come” in the flesh, this alone is inadequate to discern truth from error. “Has come” does not mean the same thing as “is come [is here],  from God, in the flesh” and therefore fails to be valid for true spiritual discernment.

 

For further understanding , we  compare  Scripture with  scripture in 1 John 4:1-3 and  Ephesians 5:30-32 

we comprehend God’s message regarding  the body of Jesus Christ  being in the Flesh vis-à-vis The Body of Christ, The Corporate Church.

Authorized (King James) Version

30 for we are members of his [Jesus Christ’s]  body,  of his flesh, and of his bones. 31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.

 

 32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning  Christ and the church. 

 [So, we are flesh and bone members of His body, We are] one flesh with Him,  The Body of Christ is (In the flesh); and is the incarnate Body of believers.

 

He was born of a virgin 2025 years ago and He’s alive today.                       

He’s coming again  soon,  for His bride; the Church [Blood-bought, Born-again members of His body].

 

When a believer considers the fact that they are members of the body of Christ [The Church] , they will see and acknowledge that…

 

“Jesus Christ is here, from God,  in the flesh,” because  We are the Body of Christ; The Church, in the flesh!

Even though [some misinformed Bible readers believe] the King James Version has its weaknesses, it is an excellent translation and by far the best version [and the version most in demand today]. 10) The KJV is the work of 54 translators selected and organized into seven companies. (2), from Westminster (2), from Cambridge, (2), from Oxford and (1)  from London.
